October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and while this cause shares the limelight this month with Breast Cancer Awareness also, it tends to fade into the background each October. However I am a great believer in Domestic Violence Awareness and feel the need to bring awareness to the people more and more. This is a sad, silent and lonely crime which no one really talks about or even wants to know about. But it happens everywhere and chances are someone YOU know has had their lives touched by domestic violence in some form or another - though they may never say as such.
This kit represents Hope, Faith, Courage, Strength and, ultimately, Peace - all of which one needs to overcome living with domestic violence AND its aftermath. It depicts the femininity of the woman who has had hers stripped away with every slap, punch, kick or even words - and the rising above the pain to become A SURVIVOR!
